Chongming line
[edit]Am just wondering why the Chongming line isn't listed on this page? Is it a China Railway line rather than Shanghai Metro? NemesisAT (talk) 16:50, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
- It is mentioned in 'Future expansion' section. It is under construction, so there is nothing more to say about it. It is part of Shanghai metro, like lines 16 and 17 an suburban line. All three are also mentioned on the Shanghai_Metropolitan_Area_Intercity_Railway page (as operated by SM).
- Hmm I think I must have missed it, or perhaps it wasn't there back in 2020. Thanks NemesisAT (talk) 13:18, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
Way too much colors
[edit]Possible WP:ACCESS issue per MOS:COLOR. Unnamelessness (talk) 14:01, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- I personally think we should not have any coloured text in the prose. Tables, sure, but for readability we should not mess with colours in the main text. The lime green and yellow text is especially hard to read. NemesisAT (talk) 21:18, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- Agreed. Colors should be only used in tables. Unnamelessness (talk) 11:53, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
- Amendments made to reduce the colors. Ralphste (talk) 01:11, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for this, but I do feel further changes are needed. Specifically, instead of just numbers the prose should read "lines 5 and 7" (for example). Screenreader users won't see the coloured blocks so will miss the visual hint that these numbers correspond to lines. Sorry, I am struggling to be more specific because so many changes have been made to this page that I'm losing track. Would you be able to consolidate your edits in the future? This will make the history section more readable and help other editors keep track of what is going on. Best wishes NemesisAT (talk) 13:17, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
Needs updating
[edit]- Extended hours was implemented in 2017, extended in 2018. In 2020 it was reintroduced on 4 lines and in 2021 extended to 6. Sometime in between these services should have been suspended? I presume it is related to epidemic control (could not find it)?? Does someone know? Ralphste (talk) 23:42, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- Platform screen doors. Does this section need updating? Line 5: with the reconstruction, have the stations on the mainline/new stations platform screen doors?
- Transport hubs: These bus lines will soon be housed in a brand-new bus station. Is this text from 2005 (building from 2005) or is there one under construction? Ralphste (talk) 01:03, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hello, just a tip, please sign your posts at the end with "~~~~". This will add your signature and a timestamp. Best wishes NemesisAT (talk) 22:32, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- Anyone an idea what is needed to address "This article may need to be rewritten to comply with Wikipedia's quality standards. (July 2021)"?
- WP:COLOR abuse, inconsistent MOS:DATEFORMAT, WP:FAN stuff, containing possible WP:NONFREE images etc. Unnamelessness (talk) 12:13, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
- WP:COLOR Colors are reduced. Ralphste (talk) 14:28, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
- MOS:DATEFORMAT All now in format Month day, year. Ralphste (talk) 14:28, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
- WP:FAN content moved to new pages for 'fans' Ralphste (talk) 14:28, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
- Anyone an idea what is needed to address This article possibly contains original research. (August 2021).
- Many sections unsourced (e.g. Station layout, Subway culture) Unnamelessness (talk) 12:13, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
- Added references to latter section, former section removed. Ralphste (talk) 15:50, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
The article is still in a relative poor shape unfortunately. I am planning to completely re-write it when I am available and it may take some days (even months though). Unnamelessness (talk) 13:23, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
Rewrite
[edit]To avoid WP:EDC and minimize the impact to the article, I started to rewrite the article in my sandbox. Anyone can see the page's history for attribution. Unnamelessness (talk) 05:20, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
Unique stations
[edit]I count 408 unique stations:
506 stations of which 83 interchange stations (of which 11 between 3 lines and 2 between 4 lines) leads to 506-83-11-4=408.
- see Timeline of Shanghai Metro line opening I come to 408 unique stations
In the text and the infobox the number mentioned is 396. Why is there a difference? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:1C00:E09:7F00:5C1B:C60:F504:D6BC (talk) 23:28, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
